Macon are traditional wooden sweep oars, hand made by our traditional oar maker (we can sometimes supply oar restored oars).  They are then prepared, painted and varnished.

When they are ready for sign writing, this is done using traditional sign writing skills and methods, incorporating high quality materials including gold leaf.

The length of the oar loom may also be cut in half and fitted with a traditional hand crafted dowel mechanism. This makes the transport and storage of a full length oar easier.

Oars can be purchased in any number; from single blades to full sets.

We have produced presentation oars for the Cambridge and Oxford bumps, and various regattas, collectors, weddings, pubs, corporate headquarters, shops, birthdays and other occasions.
